Last evening, June 4th, various groups and individuals, about 60 people, held a protest and ordered the Ministry of Defense to "immediately stop the construction of the new base that's being forced on Henoko." Especially the "unforgivable members of the new Henoko base construction's executive committee." People were lined up at the Ministry of Defense's main gate with banners showing their resistance.
At the mic relay it was announced that "Two Osprey aircraft that were headed for the Kadena construction site had mechanical problems and made an emergency landing at Amami airport. The military that's training in Okinawa is exposing the people of Okinawa to danger. We will not forgive them." In reaction to this news, the people attending shouted in anger.
Then the organizer read a proposal for the abandonment and rapid suspension of the new Henoko base's construction and handed over the proposal to a Ministry of Defense official.
Let's stay persistent and keep opposing the construction of the new Henoko base.
