Trade is War

On June 1st, Yash Tandon will be in Utrecht to launch his latest book 'Trade Is War'.

In the book Ugandan scholar Yash Tandon argues that trade and investment agreements should be seen as servants of multinational corporations.
It is an attempt to show that for the vast majority of people, and especially those in the poorer regions of the world, free trade not only hinders development – it visits relentless waves of violence and impoverishment on their lives. From land and water, to health and human rights, everything is intimately linked to the issue of trade.

Yash Tandon is an Ugandan scholar and political activists with decades of on-the-ground experience as a high level negotiator at for example the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Join us for an insightful lecture followed by a lively and critical discussion.
